Tip #1 "Apply the Minima Template"
If the background you chose says it works best with the "minima" template, you can apply it to your blog by following these steps:
STEP 1: Sign into blogger, this will take you to the "Dashboard" screen.
STEP 2: Click "Layout" under the blog you wish to apply the minima template to. This will take you to the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" screen.
STEP 3: Click "Pick New Template" in the upper left of the screen. This will take you to the "Template" Screen.
STEP 4: Select the "minima" template under the first sample blog in the upper left.
STEP 5: Click "Save Template"
NOTE: Applying the minima template to your blog will NOT erase any posts.
Tip #2 "Adjust Fonts and Colors"
To make your new background look good add your own personal touch to it. From your "Dashboard" click on "Layout" then "Fonts and Colors". Here you can change the text color for posts, links, titles, and visited links. Choose colors that compliment your background. You can also choose a "Page Background Color". This is the color that people will see if there is extra space to either side of the background image. Usually only people with large screens will see this color.
Tip #3 "Customize your Navbar"
From "Dashboard" click on "Layout". This will take you to the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" page. Just above the "Blog (Header)" box is the "Navbar". Click on "Edit" and you can change the color of the "Navbar" at the top of your blog. Choose a color that compliments your background.
Tip#4 "Why does the background image appear to be cutoff?"
Most of the background images were designed for higher resolution screens. If you are using a smaller screen or one set at a lower resolution, the background image might appear to be cutoff. To change your screen resolution consult your computers Help guide.
